Patrick Quinn is the widower of Grace Quinn, the father of Happy Quinn, the father-in-law of Toby Curtis, and owner of an auto mechanic shop. Patrick was portrayed by Jamie McShane.

Biography[]

When Happy was born, her mother died in childbirth and he became an alcoholic. He thought she deserved better, and left her at a hospital telling them to "find her a good home".

Season One[]

Father's Day[]

Happy enters his mechanic shop, and not revealing her identity, shows him a faster way to fix the car.

Dominoes[]

Happy writes a letter to tell her father who she is, however when she goes to his shop to give it to him she cant bring herself to do it. as she goes to leave her father reveals that he knew who she was the second he met her. Happy brings her dad to the garage to met everyone else for Christmas dinner.

While on a submarine that crashed happy sends a note up to the surface detailing the stuff needed to save her and the others stuck on the sub, and also that her father is needed to help bring them to the surface.

White Out[]

After Happy gets lost in a blizzard she starts to sign the lyrics to the song shinny happy people, the song that her father sung to her a lot as a infant. When they were safe back in the garage she calls her father and get him to come to her and tell her about why she remembers the song. during this Happy and her father watch a VHS tape of her mother and father while her mother was pregnant with Happy.

Personality[]

Like his daughter Happy, Patrick enjoys working in his mechanic shop and is skilled in building objects from improvised parts and ends. He has admitted to being a recovering alcoholic due to his difficulties in coping with his wife's passing and as a result, ended up making the decision to leave Happy at the hospital to be adopted. Since their reunion, he has expressed regret for his choices and left behind much of his shady past to be a better father.
