"Some things you just can't fix. You gotta live with them. You don't take innocent lives."
—Cabe

Agent Cabe Gallo is the ex-husband of Rebecca Burns and the father of their late daughter Amanda. He is a Special Agent with the US Department of Homeland Security and the government handler of Team Scorpion. He was also Sylvester's campaign manager while he was running for alderman. Following his suspension in season four, Cabe was temporarily Scorpion's intern.

BiographyEdit

Early LifeEdit

When he was younger, he was married to a woman named Rebecca, with whom he had a daughter, Amanda, who died of a terminal illness at a young age with him by her side. He divorced Rebecca, but he only asked for their house.

He first met eleven-year-old Walter when he was the agent who was sent to investigate the NASA hacker, and recruited Walter to work for the government. He was Walter's handler and father figure for five years, until he asked Walter to design some tracking software for "humanitarian purposes". However, the software was really used to bomb Baghdad and kill 2,000 civilians. Walter broke all ties with Cabe, but was continuously tailed thereafter by Homeland.

More ExtinctionEdit

After Mark Collins fakes an ankle injury while stopping an extinction-event, Cabe removes his ankle cuff in order to deal with the problem. As a result, Mark escapes and the new Homeland Security director places Cabe under arrest for instigating an escape.

Grow a Deer, A Female DeerEdit

After learning of Cabe's predicament from Allie, Scorpion pools their funds together to pay Cabe's $500,000 bail, but it leaves the team desperately short of cash. As a result, they take a job in Africa helping stop an organization of poachers while Cabe, now suspended from Homeland Security, remains behind. While helping the team remotely alongside Ralph, Cabe has to deal with the consequences of his legal issues such as not telling Allie the full truth, an inexperienced public defender and the possibility that he will spend up to seven years in prison if he is convicted.

Nuke Kids on the BlockEdit

The team searches to find Cabe a competent lawyer without luck. Called in to decommission a nuclear missile, Scorpion brings Cabe along as their new Junior Intern. Due to an accident, the team deals with the threat of the missile going off. After the warhead is launched in an attempt to remove it from the situation, Cabe comes up with a brilliant idea that allows them to locate and safely disarm the warhead. At the end of the episode, Sly announces that he intends to take the Vermont bar exam in 48 hours so that he can act as Cabe's lawyer.

Sci HardEdit

Due to his financial troubles, Cabe buys a crappy car that even Happy can't repair into any sort of good working state. When the team, minus Sly who is taking the Vermont bar exam goes to a technology conference, Cabe accompanies them, but relaxes in a sensory deprivation tank to ease his mind of his troubles. As a result, Cabe is not present when the conference is taken over by bank robbers. Cabe works to take down the robbers with the help of the team despite a police detective's suspicions due to Cabe's pending trial and suspended status. Cabe manages to take down two of the robbers and poses as Barnaby the Banking Butler on a website thrown together by Sly to successfully trick the robbers. When the remaining two attempt to flee, Cabe chases them in his car and manages to stop their escape. In the aftermath, Cabe decides to keep his car, but it breaks down and Scorpion is forced to push it to the nearest service station. Along the way, Sly learns that he has passed the bar exam and can thus act as Cabe's lawyer.

Faire is FoulEdit

At a pretrial hearing, Sly attempts to argue that under the 8th Amendment, Cabe was right to release Mark and should get his charges dismissed, but experiences a confidence issue. Though impressed with Sly's argument, the judge decides that Cabe's case will go to trial. Shortly afterwards, Scorpion attends a Renaissance Faire and have to deal with a couple of cop killers attempting to steal crucial evidence. Cabe is able to boost Sly's confidence to get the nerds' help in bringing down the bad guys and exposes a secret love of an old show shared by many of the nerds at the faire in the process.

Crime Every MountainEdit

With Cabe's trial fast approaching, he retains a deluded view of what will happen and attempts to get Sly to allow him to testify on his own behalf. However, Sly adamantly refuses. As the rest of the team are away, Sly and Cabe get a lead on Mark's location and attempt to capture him. The lead turns out to be a trap and Mark frames Cabe for taking a $50,000 bribe, adding to the charges that Cabe will face. This new development causes Cabe to accept the reality of his situation and Sly finally agrees to allow Cabe to testify on his own behalf with the stipulation that he will ask for a bench trial so that Cabe's fate is determined by an experienced judge instead of a jury. During this time, Walter attempts to distance himself from Cabe out of fear of losing him, but after talking to Paige, works to help Cabe prepare for his trial.

Who Let The Dog Out ('Cause Now It's Stuck in a Cistern)Edit

The night before his trial, Cabe stays at the garage all night in case Sly comes up with something at the last minute. After Scorpion tries unconventional tactics to alter the judge's mood, Cabe becomes dubious but gives them all personal mementos in case he is found guilty. The trial turns out to be presided over by a judge known for handing down harsh verdicts instead of the judge that was expected. The judge rejects all mention of Cabe's history serving his country or his father's and dismisses the majority of Sly's defenses, particularly after Sly purposefully shocks the judge with Mark's ankle cuff as a demonstration. During Cabe's testimony, he argues that he and Mark were on an island when he made the decision to release Mark on his own. This gives Sly an idea and he is able to get a brief continuance. Upon his return, Sly uses an obscure case from 1804 to argue that as Cabe and Mark were on an ice floe, Cabe was technically the captain of a ship and under maritime law, within his rights to release Mark to prevent harm befalling him. Though dubious, the judge admits the defense.

While waiting for the verdict, Cabe and Sly acknowledge the likelihood that Cabe will be convicted. Cabe makes Sly acknowledge how hard he worked even if it doesn't work out. The judge finally returns after deliberation. Based on a brief supplied by Sly with detailed data showing how Mark could've hacked the bank to frame Cabe, the judge dismisses the bribery charges against Cabe. The judge determines that under maritime law, Cabe was within his rights to release Mark and finds him not guilty, exonerating Cabe. Aftewards, Sly has to deal with charges racked up by Toby and Florence while helping him to prove Cabe's innocence and he is able to get them community service. Cabe has everyone open the gifts he had left them which include the letter he wrote on Walter's behalf when Walter was twelve in support of Walter getting his visa. The letter makes Walter emotional as it shows that even when he was young, Cabe cared greatly about Walter and thought highly of him. Cabe also gifts Toby his father's old hat in honor of all Toby has done for him.

PersonalityEdit

Cabe is a very out-going man who seeks to help those he loves, and seems to have a lot of trust in those people. In the show, Cabe shows this trust to his surrogate son Walter, who he had difficulties with in the past. Walter even states this level of trust near the end of season 3, stating that out of all the crew, Cabe trusts Walter most. Cabe is a very forgiving person given the circumstances of Walter in the past, but when Allie, his latest ex-girlfriend betrays a member of the team, Sylvester, by posting humiliating videos of him under the instruction of her boss, Cabe cannot forgive and ends the relationship, where at this moment Cabe seems relatively upset.
